Crown of Ashes

Ancient creatures. Forgotten by time, by humanity, by death.
They exist at the edges of our world — consuming, corrupting, waiting.
Crown of Ashes is a cosmic horror story about ancient beings, parallel realities, and the fragile balance of the human world.

About

I’m Paula Marie Rabello — a writer and hobbyist game developer drawn to psychological and cosmic horror, the kind that lingers and reshapes you over time. But when I write, the fear doesn’t always wait. My stories lean into the suddenness of real-life horror — sharp, abrupt, and irreversible.I write about people unraveling, realities breaking, and ancient forces that don’t knock before entering. My style is fast-paced and visceral, influenced by the quiet dread of Lovecraft and Stephen King, but delivered with the punch of a door kicked open in the middle of the night.

Sometimes I tell these stories with words. Sometimes through games, interactive spaces shaped by silence, isolation, and the things we try not to think about.I live in New Zealand with my partner and two cats, who often stare at the same dark corner of the hallway. None of us have asked them why.
